Why Packsay

Independence, and the rules behind it.

Independence

Packsay takes no money from food brands.

The verdict on a pack is the same whether a brand is involved or not.

Packsay quotes the pack and applies published UK rules. It does not offer opinions about products.

The rules, in plain English

What the numbers mean on a pack

Fibre

"Source of fibre" means at least 3 g per 100 g. "High in fibre" means 6 g. Morning Loaf Seeded Rye Bread has 8.3 g, so it clears both.

Protein

"High in protein" means at least a fifth of the food's energy comes from protein.

Greek

In the UK, "Greek yoghurt" means made in Greece. "Greek style" means made somewhere else.

The broader principle stays the same across every claim: Packsay applies published rules to what the pack actually says.
